Vancliffen Arts Foundation

Scholarships

Through Scholarships we provide young artists from around the world the possibility of achieving their professional goals.

Vancliffen Arts Foundation has made the dream of these young people theirs. Let us turn our attention to the arts and to those young people who through their love of beauty, their creativity and desire to emerge, not only enrich their lives but also ours.

In April of 2005, the dance world suffered a great loss with the death of Lilia Bertelli, Ballerina and Master Teacher.  Madame Bertelli was born in Florence, Italy.  Her luminous career brought her to perform not only in the principal Italian theaters, but also internationally in France and Switzerland, where she worked with such renowned choreographers as A. Milloss, J. Caulley, Tatiana Gsovsky, Lorca Massine, Paolo Bortoluzzi and many others.

In 1968, while still dancing professionally, Lilia Bertelli’s attention turned to teaching and research in the various disciplines of dance and movement.  After she received a diploma from the National Academy of Rome in 1975 and from the Royal Academy of Dancing of London in 1978, her interests and studies in dance began to flourish.  She began to renovate the theory and teaching methodologies, allowing her the opportunity to achieve ourstanding results in the formation of young dancers.  Many of Madame Bertelli’s students have moved on to various renowned ballet companies throughout the world.

L”Associazione Culturale Centro Studi Danza, founded in 1971, with the cooperation and commitment of other qualified professionals in education and dance, will allow Lilia Bertelli’s legacy to survive.  This association has been able to educate and form students through the use of music, movement and body expressions, preparing these young thriving artists for a career in professional dance.

Madame Bertelli’s commitment to dance did not stop there.  She established the Dance Movement Therapy, which gave birth to the Centro Toscano di Arte e Danze Terapia, where dance is now being used as an Art for Healing.

is honored to announce a scholarship fund in memory of this great woman, who dedicated her life to the world of dance, and to all who aspire to become professional dancers.  This scholarship has been established to help young talented classical ballet students achieve their dreams.

D. GARY YOUNG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
OVER $10,000.00

Dr. D. Gary Young, founder of Young Living essential oils was a master teacher, author, healer, researcher, formulator, nutritionist, international diplomat, and known for his ambitious spirit.
He had a passion for discovery and wellness that brought him to distant corners of the world—from lavender fields in southern France to desert ruins in Yemen to rainforests in Ecuador. Gary had one primary focus: Uncover all he could about essential oils in healing humanity’s ills. He made it his life’s work.
He learned about the wellness potential of essential oils, ancient and modern distillation methods, and the history of essential oils, woven throughout the stories of ancient civilizations.
He also discovered that he needed to work with oils of the highest purity and potency, so he established a set of standards, on his privately owned farms, that later became the Science pillar of our Seed to Seal quality commitment in the world. The discovery of the benefits of essential oils (beyond aromatherapy) are vast and powerful: from healing for sports, dancing and athletic training, injuries, stamina, mental health, energy, colds & flus, eczema, skin care, beauty and much more.
As a visionary, Gary had the foresight to see that the coming times would present many, dire challenges to humanity’s health and freedoms which the world has seen over the last 2 years. His 13 books and 14 research papers on essential oil therapies for health, viruses, microbes, pain reduction, and longevity, have sold worldwide. His nutritional products and often, life-giving essential oils are distributed in over 150 countries today. Young Living is the world leader in the growing of aromatic plants, shrubs, bushes, flowers and trees for the distillation of essential oils.
Gary and his wife, Mary, established their first lavender farm in St. Marie’s, Idaho and founded Young Living Essential Oils, back in 1994. They built Young Living Company, today known as the pioneer and standard bearer of the modern essential oils’ movement—one that has enhanced and empowered lives around the world by sharing the benefits of essential oils.
Gary left humanity a tremendous, powerful legacy in 2018: his company is now headed by his endearing wife, Mary, as CEO of Young Living. Take this wonderful opportunity to meet the Young Living representative to show you more about Young Living products, how to buy at wholesale and receive amazing healing benefits and yes, ‘Dance With Ease’!

DESIREÉ LYNNE GERRICK , had an infinite love for music, and from the age of ten, she dedicated herself to the study of the clarinet.

Music enriched her life and she in turn, through her music; enriched the lives of others. Her dream was to pass her love of music to young children through teaching, but on October 11th, 2006 she passed suddenly at 25 years of age, unable to see her dream come true.

Miss. Desireé Lynne Gerrick
demonstrated a true love and talent for music from a very early age, overcoming physical difficulty, as she was partially deaf. Desireé’s dream extended to teaching music not only to hearing children, but children with hearing impairments as well, in order to enable them to be enriched by the art of music, too.

Vancliffen Arts Foundation, a non-profit, charitable organization, with its Artistic Director, Prof. Amelia Wanderlingh, and its General Manager, Dr. Fernando Milelli, in collaboration with Desireé’s Family have made her dream theirs by establishing a Music Scholarship Fund in honor of Desireé.

On May 29th 2007, the 1st Music Scholarship was awarded to Nicolas Woodliff, a senior music student at Waterloo High School in Ohio; Desireé’s High School, and where Desireé played in the High School Band. The fund will award other scholarships to talented musicians of any musical instrument. Scholarships will be granted through an Audition-Competition. Details of the competition will be established at a later date.

Vancliffen Arts Foundation, in collaboration with Desireé’s mother, Deborah Meyer, want Desireé’s dream to continue on and be realized.
